First Contact Physiotherapists (FCPs) are physiotherapists based in GP surgeries with extensive experience in the assessment and management of bone, joint and muscle problems, which means you may not need to see a GP and you get faster access to seeing the right person.
You will be assessed by the first contact physiotherapist, who will then recommend the most effective treatment options for you. This may also include onwards referral for investigations or to a specialist service.
If you are aged over 16 and are concerned about a musculoskeletal problem, you may be offered an appointment with the FCP.
These types of conditions include:
- Joint pain
- Tendon or ligament problems
- Muscle pain
- Sporting injuries
- Neck pain
- Back pain
- Soft tissue injuries
- Osteoarthritis
- Trapped nerves
- Sciatica
If you need to be reviewed for one of these conditions, please contact the practice and they can book you an appointment.
